Project Description:
DOVER- NEEDHAM- BRIDGE PRESERVATION, D-10-003=N-04-008, CENTRE STREET/CENTRAL AVENUE OVER THE CHARLES RIVER
The existing functionally obsolete bridge carrying Centre Street/Central Aveneu over the Charles River is to be widened to accommodate to two lanes of travel with two shoulders and possibly a sidewalk along the east side of the bridge. The widening of the roadway will consist of either widening both sides of the bridge by casting a structural slab and cantilevering the slab or by widening the bridge to the west only to extend the existing arches.
